Emitter reflection - Vortex Defender-XL 1x25mm Reflex Red Dot Sight

I really wanted to like this dot because I really like Vortex. I watched all the reviews a. thought the Defender would be ideal for my new pistol. I got the site, the window is great, the dot is size is nice for practical shooting, the Vortex warranty is unbeatable. The problem is I’ve bought 2 of them from different sources and the both have a major emitter reflection in certain lighting conditions. The reflection is so pronounced when the sun is lower in the sky, the sunlight shines thru the front of the optic glass onto the emitter and then reflects back onto the glass with a large, red square shape + a dot in the center and dots in the corners. It doesn’t matter what brightness the dot is set on (0 to 10) the reflection is there and it’s crazy distracting. So for me I have to return both of these dots and got with a different brand, I really wish this wasn’t the case.
