Doesn't like recoil - Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 AO Rifle scopes

Becareful about installing this on a rifle with significant recoil...300 Win Mag, 375 H&H, etc. This scope cannot take it (though Vortex will swear that it can). I found out the hard way and it came within days of ruining the hunt of a lifetime in Alaska.

Vortex fixed the scope and returned it to me without charge; however, it's pretty clear that it's not suitable for my 325 WSM. They are unwilling to make any accommodation other than returning the scope to factory specs. Vortex indicated that if the problem occurs again, they will fix it again. I'm not sure anyone with money and time invested in a hunt would accept that. I know I don't.

After reading all the excellent reviews on Vortex I was really pleased to have found another reasonably priced option in rifle scopes. After my problems, I looked a little harder and found several purchasers with similar experiences to mine. My confidence in the brand is badly shaken, and I will avoid Vortex in the future.
Pros: great price point, good glass
Cons: unreliable, warranty ineffective
