Good value for the $, but know what you’re getting. - Vortex OPMOD Viper 1x24mm Reflex Red Dot Sight

This OPMOD is mounted on my duty weapon. It is a good, basic red-dot without the bells and whistles and a good value for the money. The set screws and adjustment screws are VERY tight and you have to take care not to strip them. The set screws are not easy to access and the sight has to be dismounted to lock them into place. The battery also has to be accessed by dismounting the sight. But in return for these minor inconveniences you get a clear 6mil dot point of aim, decent glass protection and Vortex’s fantastic warranty. Would I recommend it - sure, especially if you are hard on your gear and don’t want to risk nicking or scratching a sight costing 2-3x as much! Will I upgrade? Maybe but I am giving it a year to make the grade.
