Legacy Reviewer's Review of Vortex Bubble Levels for Rifle Scopes

This chunky little guy needs to go on a diet; it needs to be mounted in front of the scope adjustment dials or you won't be able to see them from a shooting position. The workmanship is not what I would expect from Vortex, the two pieces don't line up. The paint on one piece is shinier than the other half - and both pieces are too shiny to be considered "tactical". When I placed the "level" on a level surface the bubble was off to one side! So if you were to put this on your scope and then place a level on the flat on the top of the ring the two levels wouldn't match. The other annoyance is that I have to lift my head to see the bubble - which moves the gun, oh well. One other negative is that it's difficult to see the alignment lines on the glass that should bracket the bubble in the middle; a single, bold white line circumscribing the center of the glass tube and bisecting the bubble would be better. I guess you actually have to try to use the product before you figure this stuff out (hint to Vortex engineers).

I purchased a B-Square for less than half the price, it attaches directly to the top rail underneath the scope (very compact), it's got a bold white line at the bottom in the middle where the bubble should be, and I can see it without lifting my head; simple. For the price I'll purchase a spare.
Pros: Does what it's supposed to, kinda
Cons: Bulky, clunky, can't be seen without raising your head.
