Not happy with diamondback 1.75-5x32 bdc - Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x32mm Rifle Scope, 1in Tube, Second Focal Plane

I'm really disappointed with my new Diamondback 1.75-5x32 BDC scope.

The first negative is that I find the BDC stadia lines to be so close together as to be almost useless, presenting a cluttered picture that I don't care for at all. I could not imagine trying to use them in a hunting situation. I even found them difficult when shooting 100 yard targets from a bench.

For practical use of the BDC feature when hunting, the "fine" section of the crosshairs should be longer, with the stadia lines farther apart. Also, quick selection of the appropriate sighting point would be facilitated were the lengths of each stadia line varied, with the first line below the crosshairs being the shortest, the second line slightly longer, and the third line even longer.

The second negative is that I am unable to get a 100 yard sight picture through the scope that makes me happy. Things are fine at 50 yards. But at 100 yards I have to settle for either a sharp picture of the target and somewhat blurry crosshairs, or sharp crosshairs and a somewhat blurry target picture. I've tried getting a clear picture with and without my glasses, and with every possible adjustment of the quick focus ocular lens.

I could probably live with the crosshair clutter. But the blurry picture at distance is a deal breaker for me. This one is going back to the retailer.
