I read many many reviews about this product on amazon and other sellers. Most commented about the great 'Aimpoint like' quality and function of this product. I, however, did not find that to be true. My main problems with the product were the brightness levels being too bright even at the dimmest setting and the Dot was not crisp, clean,or accurate. Because of this 100 yard targets were extremely hard to acquire and with the magnifier it was worse. I went to a local dealer and looked at a older, but same model and it preformed as expected although still not the quality side by side to an Aimpoint. The Dot was crisp and clean and the dim level was actually dim. I contacted Vortex and I returned the product for a new SPARC. It arrived and had the same problems as the first. I called customer service at vortex and asked if they had really exchanged it for a new product and the answer was "yes". I asked if their manufacturing and/or quality control processes or facility had ever changed and the answer was "no". I asked what could be done about receiving two sub par red dots and the answer was, "well they were both new, so that's as good as you're going to get" I returned the product a second time to the seller. MSP took the order back even after their 30 day return period which was great! After paying for return shipping twice and wasting 80 rounds of ammo sighting in two sights I learned that you get what you pay for and I went with a OPMOD EOTech MPO II EXPS3-0 Holosight w/ 3x G23 Magnifier, Tan, Night Vision Compatible which I like and have no complaints. Just for reference, I have a Simmons RedDot 1x 20mm 3-MOA Dot that retails for $60. It has a more crisp and clean dot and the glass is optically more clear and transmits light better. If your looking for a great reliable product that is a American company but product is made in China, this is not it. Spend more and get something like an Aimpoint or Eotech.I hope this helps while making your decision on optics for your firearm.
Cons: poor quality control, both of them
