Matt S.'s Review of Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 Rifle Scope w/ EBR-4 MOA

I am a big fan of 3-18x, finding it versatile enough to handle almost any shooting scenario.

To get a 3-18x at this price point with the features and quality Vortex put into it is awesome.

Like a lighter weight and way more affordable version of the Razor Gen 2 (since the viper pst is 3-15x instead of 18x).

EBR-4 is a great reticle that I am used to from my time spent on the Viper PST 2.5-10x32. Illumination offers solid brightness in bright conditions which helps utilize the 3x at close to mid range but can still be appropriately adjusted for low light settings.

A lot of the "wow" for this scope is under the hood so to say. Image quality is very good considering the price point, even at the top end of the magnification range. Turret clicks are positive and repeateable.

Not really a complaint, but a FFP model would be excellent.

Mounted this to a .308 bolt rifle while I finish the upper it is meant for but at this rate I might not want to move it.
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Quality
  • Side Focus
  • Tactical Turrets
  • EBR-4 Reticle
  • illumianted reticle
  • 20yd close focus
Cons:
  • Second Focal Plane only
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Precision shooting
  • ARs
  • Bolt Action Rifles
