I am impressed - Vortex Triumph HD 3-9x40mm 1 inch Tube Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane

I hate posting reviews for hunting equipment on a short turn around because there isn’t a test of durability but…I am impressed with this scope out of the box. I bought this to upgrade the cheap stock scope on my wife’s Remington 700 .243. Build quality is good in my opinion, comparable to others in the price range ($100-125 Nikons, Redfields, and Bushnells I have picked up relatively recently in that slot) or slightly better. The included rings seem nice and the fact they are included make this package a heck of a deal. Mounted just fine on the short action Remington. I torqued it to spec and sighted it in so far. Comparing this to some of my other scopes (Leupold Rifleman and VX-3, Redfields, Bushnell, etc) at dusk the clarity is not perceivably different to me but I don’t run really high dollar stuff. Eye relief is more generous than most of my other scopes maybe all of them. I really like the adjustment knobs, big and tactile. It seemed to tract well while sighting it which made it an easy job. Unless this thing fogs up or crumbles under hunting conditions I don’t see there being a better deal on the market given the initial quality, the warranty, and the price. I will probably quickly be buying a few more of these.
