Quality control could be better - Vortex Viper Riflescope Rings

I ordered these to mount a Prostaff scope on my CZ 452 Lux. Upon installation I found one of the scope tube clamping shell screws to be firmly stuck when removing it. When it finally came out it was obvious that the screw and threaded hole were galled. I was not happy. Before I packed them up to return I decided to try a repair. Luckily, I have a full machine shop in my garage. Using the proper tap and die I was able to salvage both screw and mount. I'm guessing the assembly and packing was done by machine as no human would have not known of this problem when trying to fix that screw into the hole. Overall, I like the design of these mounts and would use them again.
