Robert's Review of Walkers Silencer BT 2.0 Bluetooth Earbuds

I purchased these as a solution to three problems, comfortable hearing protection, active listening with good audio quality and bluetooth capability to listen to music and audiobooks at work when doing a mindless task while maintaining situational awareness.

The good:

Battery: The battery life is perfect and I don't even have to charge them, although the stated life is rather vague and hidden, when using a medium-quiet volume of both music and listening, they will last more than 8 hours without charging, I've yet to run into the wall with them as far as battery life goes.

Comfort: Once you know what fits your ear and how to place them, they are barely even noticeable, provided you don't wear glasses or things like that that of low quality.

Sound Quality: Very high sound quality, it's not going to give you superhuman hearing and it'll make white noise louder, but when in the right conditions it's like you're not wearing them at all in terms of hearing. Good enough for music and audiobooks. Powerboost and Standard are my go-to modes when out and about, I don't really have a use for high-frequency mode and clear voice as they are only useful in quiet environments where you're listening for particular things, whereas in industrial environments they're nearly useless due to the noise of machinery, presses and grinders. Clear voice is good to listen in detail to the arc of a welder, though not better then the naked ear, but no hot tamales in your ear with these things.

The bad:

Finnicky Seal: If you wear glasses, a hat that covers your ears or anything else, these become somewhat painful and can de-seal themselves so that the effect of hearing protection is reduced to the point it might be better to wear over ear hearing protection, although I needed to be able to wear a helmet so those were out for me. This is especially true if you wear the wrong size of either ear wing or foam tip, although I've found that the change between medium and small is much too large as I cannot keep the seal with the small and the mediums are too large and uncomfortable. I didn't need it for firearms, but if I do, I'll be changing out the tips for the mediums, despite the reduced comfort.

Poor Recharge Connectivity: I would make certain that both earbuds are properly placed into the case when charging. You cannot just drop them in, they will not charge unless the light comes on.

Bulky Case: Charging case is very difficult for me to keep on me when using the earbuds, even in fairly large cargo pants with button pockets to keep dust other nastiness out.

Easy to turn on accidently: You can accidentally turn them on and change modes as well as volume if you don't pick them up right. They experience very loud feedback when not in your ear, especially in Powerboost mode.

The Ugly:

The right ear bud's speaker now is very quiet and tinny for whatever reason and only for a few hours of use after charging, then it goes away and becomes loud and clear again. Both earbuds have been exposed to the same environment and using the included brush/magnet/pick I have cleaned it out several times to no avail or alteration. You can turn them on and off repeatedly with no change to the right earbuds sound quality. It's bad to the point where I cannot understand someone speaking to me with no loud background noise through that ear in any mode as their voice becomes unintelligible. No matter what I have tried I cannot alleviate this issue. I will obtain a warranty replacement and then report back to see if the issue comes up again, but due to this, I cannot recommend this product and especially not for 250$, although if you want to go ahead with it anyways, feel free.
