Bryan's Review of Warne 22 Caliber High Scope Rings w/Matte Finish 722M

I purchased these Warne 1 inch steel rimfire rings for my CZ512 .22wmr rifle. They are the High version measuring approx .530" height from bottom of the scope to the flat bottom of the base body. The width of the rings from front to rear is approx .505". The clamps fit the CZ 11mm receiver groove perfectly by turning the movable jaws so the dimples are in the down position below the clamping screws (Up position is for 3/8" dovetails). The top straps are easy to install by putting a small screw driver or punch (near its end) in each top strap screw hole and squeezing the handle ends together slightly as you place the strap over the scope tube. This springs the top strap slightly apart so that the strap does not scratch or rub the scope tube as it is lowered into place. The quality of construction and finish of these rings is very high and they are dimensionally precise. I used High rings on this rifle even though I am using a low power scope because of the dimensions of the CZ buttstock, which has a reverse drop measurement - which means the stock comb actually rises as it goes back toward the butt, instead of dropping. This makes it difficult to get my cheek far enough down on the stock to see through the scope. So I had to resort to raising the scope higher with these rings to reach up to my eye level.
Pros:
  • High Quality, Reasonable Price
Cons:
  • none that I have found
Best Used for:
  • Rimfire grooved receivers only
