Prestoboat's Review of Warne 30 Millimeter Rifle Scope Fixed Permanently Attached Tikka Medium Rings

These rings are great. I looked hard to find the lowest way to mount a scope to the Tikka T3 hunter but the simplicity of the integral dovetail rail seemed the simplest and was low enough. It ended up being a toss up between the Warne permanently attached or the new Burris medium rings that also attached to the integral dovetail rail. The Burris were split in the middle of the ring like standard rings and fit the Tikka T3 rail too. I went with the Warne because I already have three sets that are QD models, two for my Ruger Scout rifle (for a Leopold 2.5 scout scope and another set for a Weaver 4X scout scope). That way I can change the scope on my Ruger Scout pica tinny rail, use one for a backup, or remove the scope and use the Ruger integral peep sight. I also have a set of the Warne QD rings on my CZ 527 .223 varmint. These rings fit the 16 mm integral CZ dovetail rail and I love em.

I mounted a Leopold VX-R 3x9x40 with CDS scope on my Tikka T3 hunter and the Warne permanent mounted rings are strong and work great. I used the permanent rings, not the QD because there would be no reason to remove the scope unless I was selling the gun. I will say there is plenty of room between the forward objective and the barrel with these medium rings. I wish they made a slightly lower set for 40 mm scope but Warne said because of the mount on the integral receiver dovetail the mediums are all that will work. They work great and I must admit my eye lines up fine with the optical center line of the scope when I go hard on my cheek weld, these medium rings are fine for a 40-42mm objective.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • A little more trouble to mount a scope but once you use Warne split in the middle rings you will have no problems and buy more.
