Lived up to high expectations - Warne 30mm Fixed PA Rifle Scope Rings

A customer brought me a new lightweight, long-range hunting rifle, with a new high-end 30mm scope to match, and wanted me to 'find the right rings' for him. Based off the reputation of the NAME of Warne products, my past experiences with them, other reviews, and COST, I chose Warne.

COST is important, because in the firearms industry, especially parts, tools, and optics, you really do get what you pay for. And I was working with a quality long range hunting rifle of relatively light weight, and mounting a higher-end Leoupold 30mm tube scope to it. The scope is of high magnification, and has tall target turrets and side mount parallax adj. I went with these Warne's, because I trusted the name, and they weren't 'cheap' rings. When I got them, they looked great, and out of curiosity, I flipped the ring halves (each top over to the opposite bottom) just to see how well they flushed up, to see how well the machining was done from piece to piece, and it appeared perfect.

They mounted rock solid onto the Picatinny rail atop the rifle, and the claw on each bottom didn't have an ugly gap, or cant to them, or any sort of poor-fit issue. Before I snugged down the bottom halves, I slid them forward against the notch in the rail (always do that people, it's important)then tightened the bases. The rings held the scope like a newborn baby once I lay it in. The inner surface of the rings seemed to 'cling' to the tube, even without the top halves on. They aren't scored in any way, so not sure how that works, but the scope was matte black, that may have played in. I had a good straight rail as well as rings, because they didn't need lapping (thank God), and the scope was straight in the rings as could be.

I then used some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to degrease all the screw threads of the upper ring halves screws, just as I had done the bottom half screws,tightened them all down slowly, got the cross hairs level, and eye relief correct and everything looks great, AS WELL AS performs great.

Keeping the
