This is the best base for use with Weaver-style rings. The other high quality alternatives all use the Picatinny rail style opening which has a much wider cross bar. Weaver-style rings will fit in a Picatinny-style base, but not as tight or with the exact tolerance of the narrower cross bar associated with this product.
Pros: Precise steel manufacturing tolerances
Cons: Picatinny-style rings will not fit this base.
