While I do not understand the "Unaltered" descriptor, I presume this related to an unaltered high bolt handle positioning which may give rise to the notch in one of the two pieces.

This mounted solidly atop an Interarms Whitworth, with a modified down slung bolt handle, perfectly.

As only time will tell, the unknown life of the bluing is worth 1 star. Recommended.
