Weaver "old school" classic - Weaver K-4 Classic 4x38mm Dual-X Rifle Scope

Got this Weaver Classic K-4 for a newly acquired Marlin 336 my boys will begin using this year. I grew up with an older version of this scope. It was mounted on my dad's Model 88 .243 Winchester. My three younger brothers and I all used it throughout our teenage years...and we all know what teenagers can do to guns! Over a roughly 25-year period, dozens of deer and hundreds of woodchucks were taken with this combo despite years of falls, mishaps and general overall abuse. Since having left home, all my whitetail have been taken at ranges from 35-75 yards, so I decided to get back to the basics and forego another adjustable power scope. This new fixed power Weaver is much brighter and clearer than that old one (optics have come a long way!), the equivalent of my Nikon and Bushnell Legend scopes, and has a crisp duplex reticle vs. the old standard crosshair. At only 11.5" long and mounted with medium rings, it sits nicely atop the Marlin rifle. Windage and elevation adjustments were sure and accurate, enabling me to obtain a tight 75-yard zero in only 5 rounds. In my opinion this scope is a tremendous value and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, simplistic, fixed power scope.
