Hammer's Review of Weaver Target T-Series 36x40mm A/O Fine Crosshair Rifle Scope

I get super excited about accurate guns. Scopes?.. well, yes but not quite as much. However, you do need a really great scope to shoot well. This model fits the bill perfectly and I now own 3. If you're into tactical "Rambo" scopes with busy illuminated reticles and blocky looks, stop reading now. The Weaver T36 is great for benchrest. However, It also works well in the field. Some say that a scope of this power "bounces" around too much. Well, in any given shooter's hands, they all "bounce" the same amount, folks. With 36x you just see it all the more clearly. Seriously, this level of magnification challenges me to shoot better- and I do! Construction and quality are absolutely beautiful- looks and feels like an heirloom. It's made in Japan where fine optics have been a tradition for many years (no fruits of slave labor here). Good, even, clear bright optics (You'll notice heat mirage more at this power level- you'd think you could use this scope as a seismograph). The clicks are positive and return to absolute zero without problems whatsoever. The crosshairs are traditional fine crosshairs like those of the old days- I like being able to see the target (for me often it's Smarties at 100 yards). All of my T36 scopes have equally great optics, mechanical characteristics and dead-even quality. I've gone wrong with much more expensive scopes. If you're big-time into precision shooting but don't want to spend $1000 or more on your glass, go with this!
