Reticle fast and ususable to 400 - Weaver Super Slam 1.5-6x24 Matte Ill G4 30mm Rifle Scope

The craftmanship was perfect on this unit. Everything very well made and easy to use. The pull up turrets were nice the clicks were average- a little on the light side for my taste. The GS has a great reticle for short to medium ranges. The dot in the center is large enough at 6x for very quick target aquisition out to 400 and lends itself to hold right side,left side wind hold offs. The space between the crosshairs provides additional calibrated holdoff point, all that are really needed to 400. The dot provides a very good uncluttered aiming point at 6x. At 1.5x the reticle provides fast shooting capabilities at ranges as low as ten yards. The glass is very good quality for the price! I compared it to brands costing more. The eye relief and eye box are just average at 6x. The eye relief and eye box both improved at 4x. If the primary use is at 3-400 this is a consideration. Parallax was noticeable at 400 but the amount simply would not be a issue for the type of shooting the optic was designed for. The illumination is barely noticeable even in overcast conditions. Illumination is usable in dusk conditions but cast a glow on the scope image. The Illumination is not this scopes strong point. This scope provides good value if you are seeking a scope that will be primarily used at ranges 10-200 yards that also has calibrated wind hold off points for a occaisonal shot out to 400.
