Legacy Reviewer's Review of Wiley X SG-1 Tactical Goggles-Sunglasses with Interchangeable Lens

As with so many things, proper understanding is important. I shoot numerous competition sports from skeet to benchrest to IHMSA to IPSC. I needed something to stay in place that was scratch resistant and could accommodate prescription lenses that could easily be swapped out. These met the bill.

First, expect to buy at least 1 additional set of lenses and at least one additional set of gaskets. You can swap the lenses and gaskets in the field in under a minute - and that is taking your time.

Transition lenses are a joke...do not expect them to perform well - as they never have. Not a fault with these glasses - only the lenses.

Get the clear lenses for when those are practical.

Get a gray/coppertone polarized lens for daylight.

Get scratch resistant coating and antiglare coatings added - well worth it.

When it comes to fog there are two simple tricks. Take that extra set of gaskets and a razor knife and cut notches into the gasket to allow more air flow. Then take alcohol wipes and clean the inside of the lenses. That will last for about 3-4 hours and you can fit a dozen wipes in your pocket if needed. Same trick anyone who wears goggles while snowmobiling uses.

As far as a flexible set of frames that can use any lenses that can be safely field changed and provides top notch protection - these would be my number 1 recommendation.
Pros: Quick to change lenses, Rx is no problem
Cons: Pricey for Rx lenses
