Matthew Wiley's Review of Wilson Combat AR-15 Tactical Trigger Unit

I purchased this trigger due to the amazing ratings as well as Wilson Combat's stellar reputation. Installed it on my Ruger AR 300BLK pistol and had a serious issue. With the weapon on safe I can squeeze the trigger and feel/hear the hammer slip slightly inside the rifle then when I sweep the safety off (with my finger now off the trigger and outside of the trigger guard) the hammer falls. My rifle is completely stock other than the WC trigger.
I contacted Wilson Combat and they said send the trigger to them and they'd repair or replace it. Sent it to them and had it back a few weeks later (just the trigger package in a box, no paperwork stating what they did or if they found out what was going on), put it back in my rifle and the exact same thing happened- hammer would slip slightly when the trigger is squeezed while the safety is on then the hammer falls all the way when you sweep the safety off. I sent Wilson Combat another email, then another, before they responded asking for photos looking down into the lower receiver at the trigger group with the safety on and off. Sent that to them over two weeks ago, no response. I've sent them 2 follow up emails with no response and just sent off a third before finally deciding to write this review.
Also, thinking that the issue may be with the Ruger lower receiver I decided to put the trigger group into my Rainier Arms AR and the hammer slipped with even less pressure on the trigger. I switched out the safety on my Rainier rifle for a stock, milspec, safety and the hammer still slipped. Two different rifles and multiple safeties and the hammer slips every time I squeeze the trigger with the safety on.. and every time the trigger falls completely when I sweep the safety off.
Between the issue with the trigger and the headache of dealing with Wilson Combat (almost 3 months of dealing with them at this point and absolutely no closer to a working trigger or any clarity on why it might be happening) my patients has run out.
Unsafe trigger, would not recommend.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Unsafe
Would Recommend: No
