I have tried over 6 brands of ammo for my Remington 700 in 270 caliber. This 130 ballastic tip from winchester has dropped more deer directly in their tracks than any other ammo I have used. Other ammo has resulted in kills where the animal must be tracked. Since I generally hunt in the evenings and I generally shoot deer just before sundown near extremely thick cover, I prefer not to try and recover deer that have run back into briars at night. When I have used other ammo in this situation and have hit the deer in a high lung shot that usually does not bleed I have not found the animal until the next morning.
