If your eyes are not as good as before (like mine), then this thicker front sight post could be helpful. A couple of cons are the cost and dialing in the zero. It is an expensive item. To fine tune the zero using the front sight, you must turn the sight 180 degrees. That might cause your POA to have a less than desirable POI. Not sure why it is so hard to make a regular sight post wider.
