Great looking sights but not high enough off the ar to be useable - XS Sight Systems XTI DXW Standard and Big Dot Tritium Rifle Sights

These are good looking sights, very easy to see with one major caveat. the sight is too close to the AR to be useable. I simply cant cram my face far enough into the rifle to align the front and rear sights to hit anything. They are simply too close to the actual rail. You will find reviews on this on youtube (see the daily shooter) and he'll tell you the same. They look great, have great potential but you'll find they hardly rise up off the rifle and that means you have to hold your face at an awkward angle to the rifle to utilize these.

I have to recommend that you skip these in favor of something like the Magpul offset pro which are at least twice as tall as these are and, while do not have tritium inserts, at least can be aimed with. Your mileage may vary.
