I got this riser for my Ruger AR556. When paired with Warne's high split ring it brought by Leupold VX1 3-9x40 to just the right height. It allowed me to mount the scope forward slightly to take advantage of the full eye relief of the scope. Be sure to do any handguard swapping or modding prior to mounting this riser in a forward position. It is short enough to mount in front of Rugers pop up sight. I left the sight in place so as to have it with me on any hunting or shooting trips. The scope, mounts and rail can be removed by first removing the back sight then the YHM rail. This rail is machined well and slid right on. The Warne rings lined up perfectly on it. This set up is a relatively inexpensive way to mount a scope on any flattop. There are cheaper alternatives, but they are cheaper. Get it?
