Most Helpful Positive Review YHM-227A .5" tall 5.25" scope riser
This scope riser is solid. It is a slide on style with thru bolts for clamping. It has a good range of positioning on an AR-15/10. YHM does a good job of anodizing their products. The rail does not interfere with iron sights. The rail is not QD, so QD rings/ mount could be used the get optic removed...

Most Helpful Negative Review A TIGHT fit
It is a TIGHT fit on a mil-spec picatinny AR flat-top. I literally had to beat it on with a screwdriver handle to get it into place. On the plus side, fitting that tight pretty much ensures it's not going to move.

It doesn't fit any of the picatinny rails I own, not one.

by Logus, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on April 11, 2026
If I could mount this riser, I would still be unsatisfied with how poorly it is designed. It does not clamp in place, there is just a screw that goes through it yo prevent it from sliding off. The only picatinny I own that it could possibly fit is the plastic rails on my fun gun because it just tears through the rails and makes its own threads which is not really what you want in a removable accessory. I need it for my hunting rifle, so I can't justify keeping this riser, even if it was the right size because I refuse to damage parts in order to make the picatinny work.
Pros:
  • Arrived quickly
Cons:
  • Poor design and doesn't fit picatinny rails
Best Used for:
  • Testing the return policy of this company

Solid riser

by Bon, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 15, 2026
It was a tight fit getting on but seems to hold well. I bought this as a cheaper solution to rise a red dot and magnifer versus the Unity risers. Solid option.

Great riser

by Jacob, from UT, United States Written on March 21, 2025
This mount is rock solid. If you want to bring an absolute height optic up to 1.93" height, this is the best option. It has old-school cool aesthetics as well. FYI, I emailed YHM and they said that the screws should be torqued to 25 inch pounds.

Not what I expected

by Rogue Penguin, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 20, 2024
This riser slides onto the upper receiver rail. The charging handle had to be removed before it will attach to the receiver. Both tension screws must also be removed. I have other YHM risers that have actual clamps that can be off set to place the riser for easy on/off application. I can still use it, but had I known what I know now, another item would be in my possession instead of this one.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Cannot be remove quickly if that need arises.

YHM Fan but this isn’t practical

by blake, from TX, United States Written on April 23, 2024
Solid rail, long term I don’t know if it will keep tension. Most if not all have a separate rail connector so you can get proper torque. This is just a snug fit with screws.

perfect riser

by RyHy, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on April 13, 2024
I got this to raise my optic set up and bring my Vortex VMX-3T a little further back for better eye relief (cantilever section rearward). This fits the VMX-3T and 512c perfectly! Dont let reddit fool you, you dont need to spend $300+ for a riser. This works perfectly.
Pros:
  • Price
  • easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • red dot and magnifier
