Purchased the Yukon night vision monocular. I like the monocular and the way it performs. Only problem is it is a monocular which takes more time to get used to and adjust. Suggest the binoculars for more ease of use.

I purchased this to help me get to my stand while it was still dark. I later found out it could be converted to a rifle scope. I got the kit and a more powerful IR illuminator. I have been killing pigs at close and mid-range at night with it and it has worked very well. I have never had an issue with it and enjoy sharing it with friends who are also pleased with it. You have to get use to the focus but once you got it, youre on! Great price and has paid for its self by helping put food on the table ignore the snobs! I love good tech too but I pinch Lincoln as much as I can. You could spend a lot more and not get much more for the money. Oh, I would say it is fairly rugged. Mine fell off the roof of my truck while mounted on my SKS and has never missed a beat. Not recomended that you try it. I am sure I got lucky.
Pros: Easy to set up and use
Cons: None

I ordered my nv from B&H and it only turned on twice may be about 15 seconds each time. The green LED and the red LED came on but there was no green video at the eye relieve at all. Changed battery, waited for some amount of time and overnight and turned it on but still no green picture even the LEDS were on, unit died. I'm afraid of owning this model of nv. I called B&H and they issued an RMA number with a free shipping back for exchange. Thanks for that. Will update when receive the new one. I may have to switch to another model or brand if the new one still not working.
Pros: Died after turned on the 2nd time
Cons: Did it pass QA, QC and vibration test?

This monocular stopped working within 36 hours after it arrived from optics planet. The LED lights come on but you cannot see through it. I replaced batteries, but it was to no avail. The IR illuminator still comes one but when I turn it on it makes a humming noise. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I like this NVM as a first and look forward to graduating to an even better one at some time in the future. I am disapointed I only used mine 3 times for a total of probably 15 minutes before the screen faded and went out. I am really hoping this was just a rare lemon in the bunch. I will hold off any judgments until I find out that the replacement works longer.
Pros: Very easy to operate.
Cons: Narrow FOV and focusing takes a little practice,

I had read mixed reviews about Gen 1 night vision optics so my expectations were low. Having never used night vision before I was very impressed with the quality and clearity of the optics. As other reviews I've read I agree that if you adjust the rear eye piece 1st then the outer piece the focus is much better. In my opinion it works better in total darkness than if you have some source of light near by. A great value for the money, did some reasearch prior to purchase, glad I chose this model.
