steve's Review of Sightmark 10-40x56mm Triple Duty Tactical Rifle Scope

If you're looking for a budget scope with high power for field Target this is a good one. The parallax focus is a very fine adjustment so you exactly what distance your at when you attach a large bwjerl or comma to it .You can zoom all the way in to get a good ranging on the distance and zoom back out and use the 10 to 25 power for the shot. The illuminated ratical works great in those hard to see Target locations. I have this scope in the 1/8 MOA adjustments so you can click exactly where you need the pellet to go. I've read some of the reviews where they say it 40 power it's cloudy, maybe they forget to use the sunshade. I don't know what distance they're looking at but for field Target you go out to 55 yards and at 40 power at 55 yards it's a very clear picture and when you use the parallax you know exactly when the target is in perfect focus. No one in field Target uses the 40 power to shoot with only to range with and then you back it out between 10 and 25 power to take the shot. The turret tracking is dead on and returns to zero every time. The only scope that I've seen that beats this scope is the sightron but it costs four times more. If the scope doesn't come with the screw in sunshade be sure to buy the sunshade it makes a big difference and gets rid of any glare. I also use this scope for small game hunting in the woods the illuminated radical has two different colors green and red with five different brightness options that really come in handy when you're aiming at the ground at a squirrel a rabbit.
Pros:
  • Price,tracking,locking turrets,side parallax down to 10 yards,
  • parallax that focuses down to 10 yd, illuminated radical with red and green lights with five different brightness
Cons:
  • none so far and I have had the scope for 8 years now.
Best Used for:
  • field target ,or small game on air rifles.
