Just got it today - Sightmark 10-40x56mm Triple Duty Tactical Rifle Scope

Optics Planet was prompt as usual. I ordered on Thur morning and got it on Saturday.

It looks very well made and the glass looks bright and clear. I really like the reticle. It is duplex with thick bars that go to really thin ones in the center. But right at the center it is only a very tiny dot. You can illuminate that tiny dot with red or green if you like and adjust the brightness. If your battery goes dead you still have a scope that works great in the daytime.

I like the side focus, because I can focus easier with my eye looking through the scope. The scope rings, which some complained about, worked very well and were of perfect height. It was a nice touch because 30mm are more rare and I don't have to go out and look for them. Also the lens covers work fine. They fit tight and fit well. I would prefer the clear kind that you can see through, but as least I have some to cover the lens right now.

I am looking forward to going to my gun club tomorrow and shooting with it. I have it installed on a Savage B mag in 17 WSM. I fired two groups with that rifle at 100 yards with a 16 power scope and shot a 5/16" & a 3/8" group with it. That was with light rain and slight wind. I want to see what this rifle will do with no rain or no wind and a more powerful scope.

I am very pleased so far. I will report after I shoot with it.
