Tried it on the camp fire with a small bundle of tinder to get my logs going, sparked right up on the first try. The second day it took 3 tries but no complaints with that. When you need it take the tinder out rip it in two or three pieces to conserve it and use only 1 piece. I roughed it up with my hands to get it loose and as I said above it worked like a charm.
