The Ronstan V-Cleat Fairlead creates a lateral load at the point of attachment, locking the rope in place. This cleat by Ronstan is the smallest of the Ronstan V-Cleat Fairleads and offers the best line clearance. A V-cleat with a fairlead has many purposes. It can act as a cleat in a fairlead, a runner stop for a mooring lead, stopper or a locking pin for a mooring pin. The advantages of a fairlead are that it allows a line to be quickly released from a cleat at both ends and it eliminates the problem of a runner rubbing against a fairlead when being hoisted or lowered. A locking pin keeps the cleat securely in place at both ends and it prevents a runner rubbing against a block or a rubbing surface. Due to the unique design of a fairlead, a cut away in the base of a Ronstan V-Cleat Fairlead can be used as a becket for a 2:1 purchase system. The Ronstan V-Cleat Fairlead ensures that lines lead back to the boat where they are clipped, not over the deck.![]()
