Diffusion pipetting involves the use of a large number of small droppers, cups, etc. to draw up a known volume of fluid, usually from a vessel, and then blowing the liquid out of the pipet while the still receiving the liquid inside the bulb. To measure a specific volume, the withdrawal should be done while still inhaling slightly, blowing out the pipet as you blow. When the volume is reached, the bulb is then removed, and the process starts again. Graduing the pipet to the desired volume makes it easy to readjust back to the exact volume. This particular pipet has graduations all the way up to the maximum, which makes it excellent for clinical laboratory use, especially when sampling urine, blood, serum, or other biological fluids. It also has an anti-static bulb ensuring that no residual liquid will be drawn in. Additionally, there is a graduation on the withdrawal stem, which helps when measuring small volumes. These finely graduated transfer pipets are ideal for use with syringes, droppers, medicine, and viscology labs. Graduation plugs attached to the bulb stem make it easier to draw liquids in and a reduced-viscosity stem prevents bursting. Made of high-quality, translucent polyethylene, Samco Disposable Transfer Pipets are gamma-sterile, filtered, and sterilized with gamma-activated gamma-containing pipets.
