Micro Conversion Kits for your Glock, Smith and Wesson, SIG SAUER, and More! | Free Shipping Available! 77 products / 742 models

A micro conversion kit functions as a chassis for your handgun that turns it into a carbine-style firearm and gives you access to more features and accessories that you can’t usually use with a traditional pistol. The micro conversion kit (MCK) originally comes from CAA, and many other companies have started designing parts and attachments that work in conjunction with the MCK to further upgrade your pistol after you get it in the polymer chassis. While traditionally micro conversion kits were used for Glock 17s, Glock 26s, and other 9mm Glock handguns, the CAA MCK is now made for a wide variety of the most popular brands, including SIG SAUER, Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, and more. Whether you’re using a CAA MCK to add Picatinny rails to your favorite handgun or want to increase your effective distance with a longer barrel and stabilizing brace, here’s what you should know about micro conversion kits.image

Is a Micro Conversion Kit Legal?

Yes, as of March 2023, micro conversion kits are legal to own and use. They do not make your handgun into a short barreled rifle (SBR), so your pistol stays a pistol, it just has a larger frame. Since both micro conversion kit Gen 1 and Gen 2 just function as an attachment that goes over your pistol, you’re not changing the internal parts. However, if you use an adapter to add a rifle stock or attach a vertical foregrip to the rails on the conversion kit, you can run afoul of the NFA and ATF.

What Are Micro Conversion Kits For?

An MCK is a product that gives you a sturdy platform for your handgun to increase its versatility and functionality. You can attach larger red dot sights and scopes to the handgun with a wider base and more Picatinny rail space, as well as other attachments that wouldn’t fit on a traditional pistol. Additionally, they come with a built in charging handle to make engaging the slide easier. If you want to use your pistol in a tactical situation, you can also attach a sling to the firearm and keep it by your side without using a holster. This makes reloading it and adding new mags easier when it isn’t in your hands.

What’s the Difference Between a CAA MCK and a Micro Roni?

The MCK and micro Roni are both made by CAA USA, but the MCK is the newer model. The micro Roni has started to be phased out, as the MCK is a direct upgrade to it. While the MCK is a bit heavier than the micro Roni, this helps you control the firearm during successive shots, keeping your grouping tighter. The MCK is also more versatile because you can keep an additional loaded mag on the chassis, allowing for quick reloads without the use of tactical pouches and training.
