.30 Caliber 220 grain HPBT MatchKing Bullets come in a wide range of options one being the 220 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail (HPBT) bullet while the 220 grain MatchKing Tipped MatchKing is basically the same but includes a boat tail. These characteristics make the 220 grain MatchKing Tipped match much more effective than the corresponding 220 grain hollow point bullet. You will increase your accuracy and speed when you use the 2240 MatchKing. In fact, this is the only .30 caliber bullet Sierra makes that is not recommended for hunting. Although you will be able to get these famous bullets loaded for .30 caliber cartridges in .30 caliber cartridges, you will need to remove the crimped o-rings in order to get the very best performance. You can be sure that if you use this type of bullet in a .30 caliber chamber it will be a very expensive mistake.
