The .45 ACP has come a long way in the last 100 years. The rapid growth in popularity of the .45 ACP in recent years can be attributed to the availability of the SIG V-Crown 200 grain OTM bullet. The V-Crown 200 grain is a jacketed hollow point pistol bullet with an extra deep penetration ogive design for deep terminal penetration. The polymer tip steers the projectile out of the barrel and into the intended target. The tip forms a mushroom shape and the jacket is locked solid with a circumferential cut thread. Venting the bullet half-way up the shank locks the core and jacket solid with a little extra material. The solid point initiates expansion across the bullet's full range of diameters and provides excellent terminal performance. The added velocity enhances accuracy and expands reliably at a variety of velocities. This bullet is designed with the same tip as the SIG V-Crown #9924. Using the SIG SAUER TIPP (Triple Purpose Pistol Round Nose Pad) as the pocket of the SIG SAUER X-Factor and has Sierra's exclusive secant cannelure. This cannelure improves hold on the core and helps the projectile retain its energy longer. For the #9924 and #9925 a cannelure halfway up the shank locks the jacket to the core ensuring maximum weight retention and terminal expansion.
