It should be noted that while the SOG Fx series is great for many different uses, the main application will be along the lines of a utility or self-defense knife. The Seal Fx has an uncomplicated mechanism down its spine. The motion of the blade during use is so smooth that it can be easily forgotten. The SOG Fx series of blades are constructed with CPM S35Vn powdered carbon steel for high strength and edge retention. The blades have a flat precision ground edge. The SOG Fx series of blades are supported with a full tang design using SOG's Tri-Ad lock system. This allows the blades to attain optimal rigidity in the closed position while still retaining sharpness and a high level of corrosion resistance. It also utilizes SOG's Advanced Combat Sheath (patent pending), which uses a slick internal surface to reduce friction during use. What also makes this blade special is that the tang is actually forged from CPM S35Vn powdered carbon fiber. This allows for much better cooling of the blade during use, which allows it to be easily removed from the sheath with only a slight tug. The seal fin design is a well-proven design that offers the end-user the same advantages of a fixed blade without the annodizing that often goes hand-in-hand with less cost.
