Product Info for SOG Specialty Knives & Tools -tac Xr Black Out
The TAC XR (Extreme Range) is based off the TAC X but adds a reverse boot feature as well as an extended length tang to provide a -technic option. By adding a standard length boot feature, the TAC XR enables users to carry the knife open like a normal fixed blade knife but offers a secure liner locking mechanism and a much reduced overall weight. This also allows the operator to use the flipper or the extended tang feature to open the blade quickly in extreme situations. It also features a blackout finish so that the user does not have to worry about scratching or glaring at the light. In addition to the blackout feature the TAC XR also includes SOG's patented Blackout feature which allows the end user to close the blade without having to worry about scratching or opening the blade. This is a very cool feature because it also allows the end user to close the blade and slide the tang towards the users hand when opening or closing the knife.
