The model-specific design of the CQB Sling 500 allows a shooter to comfortably carry a shotgun in both patrol ready and over-the-shoulder positions. However, if a need arises for an across-shoulder transition, the CQB Sling 500 allows a simple swap by replacing the adapter with a conventional sling that can be used as a conventional three-point design and provides a variety of carry positions. The webbing adapter allows the sling to transition from over-the-shoulder carry to patrol ready and simple over-the shoulder carry positions. The CTRL (Transition Release Buckle) releases the 3rd point of the sling which allows for free hanging in the off-side drop position. The CTRL can also be locked wherever the shooter finds comfortable. The CTRL also allows for easy expansion and contraction of the sling's body loop as the operator's mission profile changes and more, or less, load bearing equipment is worn. When the time comes to re-lock the TRB, it can be done quickly, silently, and with just one hand needed, allowing the shooter to maintain a constant firing grip on the weapon. The CTRL also allows for the sling to be unlinked completely which allows for complete removal of the sling from the body loop.
