They differ from their Partition JHPs in that they do not feature a U-notch, but a flat nose, which allows the projectile to expand reliably and uniformly and minimize pelt damage. In addition, they are slightly thinner than most .22 caliber bullets, allowing the lead core to thin out just enough to provide proper expansion but not so much that the projectile actually has a mushroom shape.
