Tube adapters, lids, and tubes with an angle cutoff feature make the Megafuge 1.0/1.0R versatile and easy to use. The small footprint facilitates benchtop use, while the unique ellipsoid shape of the lid and conical head make it easy to stow the lid open while the tube adapters contain a helical cutoff feature that ensures the hematoma of the rejected product does not spread throughout the lid gasket and gasket seal. If the tube adapters fall out, simply use the self-standing lid support inserts to keep the tube rotor and lid in place. For easy removal and filling of blood tubes and other glass or plastic tubes, the Megafuge 1.0/1.0R centrifuge has an angled-down hemisphere lid with a single-piece rotor. The lid has plugs to accommodate both standard and high-tube diameters, and a handle to override the lid when the tube adapter tube is in place.
