The dual-ion method eliminates the need for frequent sample replacement and provides accurate, quantitative adjustment of both ionic strength and electrical conductivity of mixed solutions. Ionic strength can be accurately adjusted by adding the same amount of acid or base to increase or decrease the ionic strength of an acid or base at the same time. For example, the ORION ion strength adjuster can readily replace up to four standard adjusters with no loss of accuracy. The ORION ion strength adjuster is designed specifically for use in mixing and blending reactions involving strong acid or base solutions.
