These ORION ion strength adjusters increase the ionic strength of weak acidic solutions, such as those derived from chlorine, bromine, or bromine. The ion strength of these solutions decreases as chlorine and bromine ions leave the solution (ion exchange). As a result, chlorine (either entering or leaving the solution) is one of the most common and harmful ions in the water. For this reason, many industries require ionic strength adjusters for their soft water systems, including municipal water and wastewater utilities, swimming pools, and golf clubhouses. These units, which are ionic in nature, increase the ionic strength of weak acid/base mixtures by adjusting the weak acid/base solution. Also useful for alkalinity and hardness of soils, plant and animal tissue, and saliva. Unlike weak acid/base removers, which tend to leave color stains, chlorine and bromine adjusters eliminate color altogether.
