Traditions A1647 Revolver 44 Black Powder 140 GR 100 - Muzzleloaders often rely on lead bullets because they offer greater expansion. However, many people find that lead expands more readily, resulting in a shorter wound channel and less energy transfer. Because of this, these bullets are often used for "tailing" (i.e. faster reloading) with black powder. Because these bullets are swagged, adding a small amount of lube to the projectile reduces friction and improves accuracy. Because of this, these bullets are often referred to as "lubed" lead revolver balls. While there is some slight drag that is unique to this design, it offers very little disadvantages over cast or swaged bullets.
