Truglo TFX Day/Night Sights for Walther CCP - TruGlo Tritium/Fiber-Optic Night Sights are machined from steel for added strength. Tritium lamps are used for low-light targeting because they do not require batteries. TruGlo TFX Pistol Sights have a fiber optic portion that helps the weapon seem to "light up" even more, making these TruGlo Tritium & FibOps Sights very visible in action. However, the front sight of these sights is actually a quality fiber optic that serves as a light trap to help shooters see the front sight in action. While they are certainly useful in low light situations, this sight has additional redundancy in that the rear sight of the TruGlo Tritium/Fiber Optics Sights glows in the dark. This is accomplished by using a tritium lamp in conjunction with a fiber optics component that transmits a part of the sight's light source, much like a lamp does. This is how the tritium is charged; it uses the energy from the firing pin to light the tritium in the night for several hours. The night sights also use a high-visibility phantom fiber optics portion to help make the sights even more visible. Plus both the front and rear of these TruGlo sights use the tritium in conjunction with the fiber optics in order to transmit the sight picture to the eye.
