1953 m94. perfect fit doesn't move at all. as for the rear screw i used existing hole for the butt plate. i'm not drilling a hole in my stock. what i don't like is uncle mikes swivels. thanks Optic Planet for having the best prices.

Functional and clean-looking! by Legacy Reviewer, March 11, 2012
Just take your time and drill the butt stock straight and in line with the rifle. Rifle looks great with or without the sling. I've used these on my model 94s for over thirty years! Pros: Just one hole to drill. Cons: None

Not for the faint at heart by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner, February 10, 2013
Lacked decent instructions. Poor fit of band on tube. Slides up and down marring the tube. Pros: Sort of fits the Marlin 336 Cons: Doesn't fit correctly

IT works, BUT by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner, December 24, 2012
It works, but I wish the ring would hold snug and not slide up and down the tube marring it.
