The Vixen Sphinx SXP Equatorial Mount w/ STAR BOOK TEN Controller is a top-flight telescope mount that draws on the innovations and experience gained through decades of designing German Equatorial Mounts. The Vixen Sphinx SXP Telescope Mount comes standard with the STAR BOOK TEN, a new generation of hand held controllers featuring a high definition LCD screen and the technology to show you the sky before your telescope takes you there. The controller includes periodic error correction and saves the data you input for your next observing session. The Vixen SPHINX SXP Mount combines with the included STAR BOOK TEN hand controller to bring you top-of-the-line portable GoTo technology.
The Vixen Sphinx SXP Mount features pulse motors designed to react smoothly and accurately. The micro slow motion control assures you of smooth operation. The R.A. and DEC wheels have 180 teeth. They are high precision machined wheels and worm gears made of brass for the most accurate tracking possible. The R.A. and DEC shafts are comprised of strong carbon steel. The rotational parts have 15 bearings. All this to provides smooth tracking and slewing. The unique mount design of the Sphinx SXP Mount is designed so that the mount body acts as part of the counterweight system. The Sphinx SXP Mount include a built in 6x20 polar axis scope. It features a bubble level, illuminated reticle, and setting accuracy within 3 minutes.
