The Vixen ED115S 115mm ED Refractor Telescope with GPD2 Equatorial Mount, HAL130 Tripod GPD2-ED115S (N) 39802 gives excellent optical performance, and captures crisp, pinpoint star images for your astronomy enjoyment. The Vixen ED 115S Refractor Telescope 's lens focuses the full spectrum of visible light to a critical point much more accurately than past ED products. These ED115S lenses by Vixen are almost free of chromatic aberration in all colors, and are critically sharp edge-to-edge. The astro-photographer will be especially pleased with the high contrast images through this Telescopes. The Vixen ED-115S ED Refractor Telescope comes complete with 7x50mm finder, finder bracket, 2" eyepiece adapter, and dual T-thread flip-mirror with dual 1 1/4" eyepiece adapters, 125mm tube rings, carry handle, dovetail tube plate and metal carry case. Also included with the Vixen ED115-S Refractor Telescope is the GPD2 Equatorial Mount, one of the stronger and heftier models of the GP mounts. With its solid steel R. A. and Declination axes and brass worm gears this mount will hold up to years of heavy use. In order to assure accurate tracking for astrophotography the worm, gears are especially machined to a very high precision that minimizes periodic error. The Vixen GPD2 Mount holds almost 50% more weight than the GP2 and comes standard with tripod and counterweight. It is easy to use and functions well for both the visual observer and astrophotography. Motion is controlled by included control knobs for accurate slewing. The polar altitude adjustment varies from 0° to 62° in altitude.
