Product Category Description:

Slides, covers & humidity indicators, and chemical and biological safety factors influencing the stability of culture media and the recovery of secretions, all require carefully considered and often volatile chemical and physical conditions. A carefully chosen series of reducing agents, known as fixatives, is inserted into the prepared slides to permit observation and analysis while maintaining the original, unexposed status of the samples. When the red color of the slide is required, the opaque white color of the cover glass is used. Slides, covers & humidity indicators, and safety factors are printed on the back of the slide. The front of the slide is printed with the legend "Set of slides XY-Z" and its identifier, "Cover glass number XY-Z", with the X extending to the edge of the slide. Slides, covers & humidity factors are stamped on the back of each set. The number of slides in each set is distinctly numbered.
