Tubes feature a frosted writing area and a color-coded cap or shrink tubing. Supplied with a color-matched blowout plug, these polypropylene (PP) tubes are amber-colored for light identification and differentiation of microorganisms. The clear polypropylene material makes them amenable to many different types and concentrations of chemicals. Color-coded tubes allow for quick, easy identification of microorganisms in a collection. Tubes made from PP are recommended for use with fastidious microorganisms that need long incubation periods. Tubes are supplied with a polypropylene shrink tube indicating the degree of indolence of the organism and a color-coded polypropylene plug indicating the origin of the organism.
