Product Info for VWR FID Gas Stations FID-2500-L1466
At most gasoline stations in the world, obtaining accurate sample temperature readings is difficult because of differences in the temperature of the air that makes the sample liquid. Ambient temperature and humidity conditions determine the retention time for obtaining a specific sample. Usually, the gas sample temperature and the room temperature conditions determine the response of the sensor, giving rise to a narrow peak or tail. A relatively small amount of humidity is present, and the sensor will respond by increasing the temperature of the sample to a higher or lower setpoint. Non-affine partial pressure of humidity may also increase the loss of sample. A flat partial vacuum draws the sample into the sensor, and the entire cycle starts over. A drop of air from the sensor causes a partial vacuum, and the sample continues to flow, while gravity removes the sample. A helium drop makes the sensor responsive to intervening time changes in temperature and humidity. The sensor incorporate differential acceleration, which causes the sample to expand and contract, just like a chromatograph.![]()
