VWR Freestanding Freezers are cooled with forced air directional refrigeration supplying temperature uniformity and temperature recovery after the freezer has been opened. These freezers use Environmentally friendly natural hydrocarbon refrigerants which reduce global warming potential (no CFCs). These refrigerants meet the new EPA/SNAP mandates and UL, ASHRAE guidelines. The digital microprocessor precisely controls the temperature making these freezers perfect for critical samples and reagents.

All Freestanding models require 4 of clearance around the back and sides of the unit for proper ventilation. Improper installation will void the warranty and will lead to temperature maintenance issues, overheating and possible failure. Manual defrost freezers are preferred in critical sotrage because auto defrost freezers incorporate an electric heater installed on the evaporator that assist in the removal of the frost and ice. Although the heater helps speed up the frost and ice removal, it can raise the temperatures within the freezer. These air temperature spikes can be harmful to some medical and laboratory products.
